The idea for Unitus was born from the founders' firsthand experiences as SDRs during the post-COVID sales downturn. "This was a period when companies, having over-inflated headcounts and forecasts during COVID, faced slower buying cycles and had to make major adjustments—starting with sales," explained Baggott. “At the same time, generative AI was exploding, particularly in sales messaging tools, prompting sales leaders to address pipeline struggles by introducing even more automation. "There was a flood of new AI tools, but many focused on high-volume activity, offering only incremental, short-lived value," Baggott continued. "We saw an opportunity to create a tool that emphasizes intentional, credible, human-centric engagement instead of spamming emails that prospects dislike and email providers actively block."

To build Unitus, Baggott recruited Charlie Parker, his former team lead at Attentive, to co-design the platform, and Noah Miller, a former Technical Lead and Managing Consultant at DMI, to lead development efforts.
